Our hotel the Old Nickel on the Nieuwe brugsteeg serves its name well. Together with her sister hotel the Old Quarter it is located at the spot were the very first houses of Amsterdam were built.
Here, near where the river Amstel flowed in the river Y, Amsterdam was founded in the 13the century.
Our hotel is still built right into the waters of what once was the river Amstel.
